Happy Mother’s Day

I’ve often wondered what the mothers of the Freedom Riders thought when they saw the photos and heard the reports from Anniston. It was 51 years ago on Mother’s Day that the bus was firebombed and the Freedom Riders attacked. Were they scared out of their minds or proud that their children were standing up for their rights?
