    The Black History Committee proudly presents "We Shall Not Be Moved", in the Pascal Center from 1 pm - 3pm. Keynote speakers for this wondrous event will be Michael J. O'Brien and Joan Mulholland. Mr. O'Brien wrote a book entitled, "We Shall Not Be Moved". The book documents The Jackson Woolworth's Sit-in and the Movement. O'Brien was captivated by the photograph taken of "The Jackson Woolworth's Sit-in" and wrote about its participants, both protesters and the mob surrounding them. The white female protestor Joan Mulholland (formerly known as Joan Trumpauer) is our keynote speaker. Ms. Mulholland was a student at Tougaloo College.

In this lecture, she will discuss her experiences growing up in the American south in the 1960's, integrating into Tougaloo College, escaping the KKK, advocating for equal rights, and being held on death row for her activism. This lecture is presented by the Women's Studies Department.
